THANKFUL AUTHOR BLOG ROUNDUP
Featuring Zoe Forward

What I'm Thankful For

I’m so thrilled to be here today not only celebrating the release of my newest paranormal romance, DARKNESS UNBOUND, but also to be THANKFUL for all the brilliant people who make my books happen: my editors, critique partners, family, web designer, graphic designer…none of my stories would’ve ever made it to print without my village of experts and supporters.

ANGELA: Tell me three words that describe yourself starting with A, B, and C.

ZOE:   A: Affable   B: Brunette  C: Creative

ANGELA: What are your three favorite things?

ZOE: 1) Family  2)Pets 3)Writing…Oh,my. I forgot chocolate. It didn’t fit in the three, but it ranks pretty high up there. Believe me.

ANGELA: Are you self- published or with a publishing company?

ZOE: I have three novels published through Wild Rose Press in my paranormal romance Scimitar Magi series (DAWN OF A DARK KNIGHT, FORGOTTEN IN DARKNESS, and DARKNESS UNBOUND – newly released 11/21/14). And, I have one novel published by Entangled Publishing in my Keepers of the Veil witch series (PROTECTING HIS WITCH – newly released 10/27/14).

ANGELA: What for you is the best part of writing? What is the worst?

Zoe: The best is the moment when my editor says YES! To have validation the story I labored on for months is ready to move on to the next phase is daggone amazing. I literally hear “Happy” from Despicable Me 2 playing in my head…or maybe it’s because I’ve got my car stereo blasting so loud the windows are shaking. The worst for me is the waiting game. I’m a get-it-done-now person. So, the hurry up and wait part of publication is tough tough tough. There’s the wait from the moment the manuscript is first queried to its initial review/acceptance, or after I’ve completed round one of edits until I hear back if that’s what my editor envisioned, or after I finished the final proof on the book and must wait months until it’s released.

ANGELA: Is there a process you stick to, or do you just write as it hits you?

ZOE: Right now I’m fantasizing about the luxury of a set writing schedule or even a designated location. I work fulltime (not as a writer) and I’ve got a young one. That means I get the writing done when I’ve got a few minutes here or there, be it at 5 a.m. before I leave for work or at 10 p.m. when things calm down after a busy day. Throughout the day my mind is a mish mash of all the manuscripts I’m working on that are in different phases. That means there are quite a few notes jotted on old receipts or the back of my son’s teacher’s memos.

ANGELA: Tell me about your two parnormal romance series! Will there be more books in either of your series?

ZOE: SCIMITAR MAGI: You might’ve heard of magi, but not these kick-ass warriors for the Egyptian gods. The Magi are a bonded group of hard as nails, hot as fire, destined for one woman alpha male defenders of the innocent. I just love everything about them. Their fierce protectiveness, their supernatural powers, and of course they’re just plain hot. Yeah, you can’t go wrong with gorgeous paranormal warriors! Read more about the newest release in this series, DARKNESS UNBOUND, below.

KEEPERS OF THE VEIL: If you like paranormal romance and a big HEA that involves witches, alpha hotties and spunky heroines then you need to check out PROTECTING HIS WITCH (LINK ). Here’s a bit more about PROTECTING HIS WITCH:

The last thing he wanted was to fall for a witch...
Despite her telepathy and the uncontrolled “dimension-hopping,” Veterinarian Kat Ramsey hasn't a clue that she's a witch. Then she accidentally hops into the next world and runs into her seriously hot one-night stand from years ago. Billionaire and former druid Matthew Ryan hasn't forgotten Kat...or the curse she gave him. Her unexpected return means finally breaking the hex. Unfortunately, his libido has other ideas―like how to get her back into his bed once last time. And worse yet, he suspects that Kat is the seventh Pleiades witch. Now he'll have to protect the woman who made his life hell...

Sequels: The sequel to PROTECTING HIS WITCH (Keepers of the Veil) is with my editor right now. The third installment in that series is well underway. The fourth in the Scimitar magi series is in the works as well. Read more about DARKNESS UNBOUND BELOW.

Angela: When writing, which do you prefer to write with, computer or paper and pen?
Zoe:  Computer (laptop)

BLURB:
Covert op partners Astrid Scarre and Kane Langford click on a level that defies logic. Astrid wants to say yes to the sexy Kane. But the guy who stole her heart and then shattered her soul twelve years ago shows up. Seeing the Dragon magus, Zannis, again ignites a wild physical attraction, but doesn’t eliminate her simmering hatred. Astrid is torn between her physical need for Zannis and her emotional connection to Kane.
Kane will never turn his back on Astrid, even when she gets inducted into the Scimitar magi, an organization he knows well and respects. His gorgeous ex-spy partner might push him away at every turn, but that’s too bad. He’s exactly the man she needs to protect her life and her heart.  All he has to do is convince her that when something feels this right, you don’t let it go.

Author Bio:
Zoe Forward is a hopeless romantic who can't decide between paranormal and urban fantasy romance. So she writes both. In addition to being a mom to one rambunctious kindergartener and wife to a conservation ecologist who plans to save all the big cats on the planet, she’s a small animal veterinarian caring for all the small furries, although there is the occasional hermit crab.

When she’s not typing at her laptop, she’s tying on a karate belt for her son or cleaning up the newest pet mess from the menagerie that occupies her house. She’s madly in love with her globe trotting husband of ten years and happiest when he returns to their home base in North Carolina.
