Thankful Author 2019- Mariah Lynne

This year, I am thankful for physical therapists. How lucky we are to have such a caring, dedicated, and patient group of professionals help with our recovery. They encouraged me to do things I thought I couldn’t, as they helped me get stronger. After my bout with extreme food poisoning and dehydration last year while coming home from an overseas trip, I had to have assistance just getting get out of bed.

With the help and inspiration of our island physical therapy center, I can now get up and down from a seated position many times over and can walk (a bit slow) without a cane. With the support of some extraordinary therapists, Lucy, Amanda, Matt, Olivia just to name a few, I started with very little strength and now am able to do those wonderful things. I am thankful for their patience, their resolution, and the fact that they worked with me for almost one year. I think of them when I get in and out of my car, walk into a store, or just take a short stroll. I feel so much stronger and so much happier because of their aid. To me, they are super heroes especially when I watch them encourage and support people recovering from injuries, surgeries, and effects of disease.

I also want to thank my poor husband who had to listen to my whining about sore muscles and being tired. He kept encouraging me no matter how many times I said I was going to quit. I’m ever so thankful for and thankful to physical therapists, mine and those helping others anywhere.

BLURB –THE LOVE GYPSY on Audible
Florida homicide detective Brianna Breeze can’t seem to catch a man unless she handcuffs him. So her best friend decides to take matters into her own hands and tricks Brianna into seeing the Love Gypsy, a Time Traveler’s friend noted for her extraordinary matchmaking skills.

When a tall, muscular man wearing jeans, a black leather jacket, and slicked back 50’s hair, bursts in on her first visit, Brianna is bewitched. Despite the gypsy’s warning not to get involved with him, Brianna can’t get him out of her mind –even though she more than anyone knows the pitfalls of romancing a stranger.

A present day murder, a mysterious vintage car registered in the past, and a smoking gun complicate the puzzle. Brianna doesn’t know if her lover from the past is a murderer or a savior, but she’s willing to risk Time Travel to find out.

EXCERPT FROM THE LOVE GYPSY

I listened intently, hoping it was thunder until I realized that the wall to the right of where Raya sat displayed an open door. I tried my best to remember if I had seen a door there when I entered but couldn’t. The swirling lights, the whirring, the sudden boom all affected my memory. I heard another short thud, then turned and looked around. A very handsome man in a black motorcycle jacket seemed to come out of nowhere. I blinked. Was I drugged?

The man stalked by me over to where Raya sat. “You said you would help me! Help me now…I can’t stay here much longer. You said it was going to happen soon. You know that. We can’t break the rules.” The man sounded desperate.

Raya put her fingers to her lips as if to quiet his rambling. “Dom, I have a guest, or hadn’t you noticed?”

The man spun and glanced at me. The darkest brown eyes I had ever seen locked with mine. We stared at each other, and I forgot where we were.

“Hi there. Sorry I didn’t see you.” His deep velvety voice captivated me. My thoughts floated to a romantic place before coming back to my senses. I reacted like a teenager with a crush on the high school football captain. I could barely get out a “hi”. We started to talk at the same time. I giggled, embarrassed by my reaction to him.

“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dom. That’s short for Dominick. What’s yours? It’s wouldn’t be Gidget, would it? You could be Sandra Dee’s double. Bella. Bella, with your blonde curly hair and emerald-green eyes.”

Dom smack kissed his fingers before he held them up in the air. By now, I was totally puzzled. “Gidget? Sandra Dee? Who on earth are they? My name is Brianna…Brianna Breeze.” Dom took a deep breath. “Well, Brianna Breeze, I think I’m in love with you.”

  7. Mariah, I am sorry you had to go through your bout with food poisoning and dehydration, but I'm glad you've made such a successful recovery. Therapists are often like angels among us. Your book looks fascinating. I love the cover. Anything about gypsies always intrigues me.
