Thankful Author 2017- Rachel Brimble

What Am I thankful for… Rachel Brimble

There’s so much to be thankful for, but life and its worries often gets in the way and we lose sight of the things that really matter. For me, it’s my health and that of my family and, of course, my family themselves.

When I first became a mother over eighteen years ago, I had no idea what I was doing. Darn, I had only held one baby before my own was put into my arms. My daughter and I learned about motherhood together, one day at a time. Now, eighteen years later, Jessica has started university on a policing course and never fails to astound, impress and delight me. She and I have an extremely close relationship and that is something I’ll always be grateful…that, and the fact she loves me no matter the early-learning mistakes I made!

And then there’s my youngest daughter, now sixteen, Hannah has become one of the kindest, bravest, driven young women I know. If she wasn’t mine, I’d want to know her. She’s an inspiration in reaching out to others, caring for others and, all the while, going after her passion of making it in musical theatre with everything she has. She’s a star in her own right and, of course, in mine and my husband’s eyes, too.

Finally, I’m grateful to my boys – my husband and our beautiful three-year-old, chocolate Labrador, Tyler. These two are my constants. The ones who pick me up when I’m down, love me no matter my mood or state of mind. I have no idea how I’d write, let alone do anything else if I didn’t have my boys to lean on. They get me out of the house, far away from laptop so I see all the other God-given beautiful things that surround me in the English countryside where I live.
No money, accolades or achievements required – my family love me and I love them. Something I’ll always be thankful for.

My latest release with the Wild Rose Press is a romantic suspense – IF I WANT YOU is about family, overcoming heartbreak, fear and forging forward with the people we love. I enjoyed writing this book so much as it brought forth every intense emotion I feel for my family. I hope it causes the same care and determination in my readers, too.
