Thankful Author 2016- Tina Susedik

Many eons ago, forty-six to be exact, a  young man asked me on a date for our college homecoming. Since both of us were farm kids, going out to eat in a restaurant was a rare, rare thing. I had to borrow a dress, and as Al adds to our story - a white dress. We both thought we were pretty grown-up. Looking back I realize the place we went to eat was just a simple family restaurant, but to me being all grown up and everything, it was a five-star palace.

There we were, sitting in a booth, ordering steak - which was something neither of us had growing up. Steak was reserved for the adults. There on the table was a bottle of steak sauce, again something I never got to use as a child, but my dad loved. I picked up the bottle . . . well this part of the story is in "Never With a Rich Man," which was released this November 2nd.Although it was a few years before I could laugh and admit to the incident, the story has been told over and over through the years, making people laugh.

What I'm most thankful is that the young man asked me out for a second date, a third date, a fourth, etc. I'm not sure if he wanted to find out what other trouble I could get into or if he saw something in me I didn't see. Anyway, I'm thankful for the two and a half years of dates and FINALLY our wedding day. We've been together through thick and thin and steak sauce for over forty-three years.

If you want to find out what happened on that first date, grab a copy of "Never With a Rich Man." I do have to let you know that after Cassie had her "incident" in the restaurant, what follows in the book, did not happen in real life - after all we were only teenagers and not really grown up at all.

I will give away two e-book copies of "Never With a Rich Man." Just like and comment on my Facebook page.  Facebook: Tina Susedik, Author

    1. Since we were both so shy when we met, we were destined to be together.
