Sorchia Dubois- Cover Reveal- Zoraida Grey and the Family Stones

Happy Thursday readers.
I am delighted to join in revealing fellow TWRP author, Sorchia Dubois' book cover for her newest release, Zoraida Grey and the Family Stones. Read on to check it out.

First, thanks to Angela for hosting me on the auspicious occasion of this cover reveal for
Zoraida Grey and the Family Stones.

I’m so excited to be sharing the cover here that I’m giving away a $10 Amazon Gift card to one lucky commenter. You can enter here

or hop over to my website at http://SorchiaDuBois.com .

OK—Yes—I can’t resist starting with a cliché. People do judge books by their covers. First impressions make a huge difference, and nowhere is this more important than in the book biz. A good cover snags new readers and titillates those who already follow an author’s work.
So—personal preferences aside––what makes a good cover?  Funny you should ask.

Here are a couple of things to keep in mind as you feast your eyes on the cover for Zoraida Grey and the Family Stones: genre, tone, excitement. These are the areas where I think this cover really works.
Can you tell right away this book is going to involve spooky stuff? Does it look a little forbidding but with a hint of humor? I’m hoping the combination of images on the cover and the title itself will do those things.

The most important question is this: Does this cover motivate you to flip the book over and read the blurb—maybe even open it up and read the first couple of pages?
If you do take a second look at the blurb—here is what you will find.

Granny’s dying, but Zoraida can save her with a magic crystal of smoky quartz. Too bad the crystal is in Scotland––in a haunted castle––guarded by mind-reading, psychopathic sorcerers.
Getting inside Castle Logan is easy. Getting out––not so much. Before she can snatch the stone, Zoraida stumbles into a family feud, uncovers a wicked ancient curse, and finds herself ensorcelled by not one but two handsome Scottish witches. Up to their necks in family intrigue and smack-dab in the middle of a simmering clan war, Zoraida and her best friend Zhu discover Granny hasn’t told them everything.
Not by a long shot.

There you have it ––The brand, spanking new cover for Zoraida Grey and the Family Stones to be released this fall by Wild Rose Press. Tell me what you think!

  1. I LOVE this cover! And the blurb is excellent. As an old hippie, I started laughing when I read the "Family Stones" part of the title. Great pun and thanks for the Sly Stone ear worm! Wishing you much success with this new title.

    1. Hahahah. When this book was just a tiny WIP, I jotted down this as a working title and it stuck. I loved it from the first--and I am so glad there are still other old hippies out there who get it :) That really made my day, Ashantay!

  2. Here's the word my first glimpse of your cover evoked in my mind: "Ooooh!" OK, it's still early and I'm not too eloquent but rest assured my interest skyrocketed. I would definitely flip this one over to read the blurb, and the blurb doesn't disappoint. Knowing your work, I'm happily confident neither will the story!
