Thankful Author - Helen Scott Taylor

Thank you to Angela for having me here today so I can share my thoughts with you. I am thankful for so many things in my life that it’s difficult to know where to start. Despite many challenges over the years, I have so much to give thanks for. I have shared those challenges with a wonderful man, my darling husband of thirty-two years. The difficult experiences have bound up closer, just as the happy ones have.

I am thankful for my two wonderful children, although they are no longer children. My son has just graduated from Art College with an honors degree in animation and this is a huge achievement for him. I still remember years ago being told he was having trouble learning to read because he had dyslexia. When I asked how bad it was the therapist said “As bad as it can be.”

Despite this, and also having dyspraxia, my son never gave up. He finally learned to read and I am so proud to say he is now a writer. He will soon publish his first story and it has been a long and arduous journey for him to reach this point. I am so proud and thankful that he is such a determined young man. I am also thankful for my darling daughter, who has faced her own challenges and keeps fighting on.

I am lucky enough to live in my dream house in the countryside, surrounded by the rolling green English countryside, and I am tremendously grateful to be so blessed. I am also thankful to have found my sweet little dog who is my baby. She is a rescue dog who came to us by accident, and every day I give thanks that she found us.

Last but not least, I am thankful to have been able to fulfill my dream of writing. It is a great privilege to be able to fill my days doing something I love so much and I am very much aware that I’m lucky and many people do not enjoy their jobs. My advice to all of you is if you have a dream then keep working towards it and never give up.

Paw Prints on Your Heart Trilogy

#1 Golden Christmas

Two wounded hearts are brought together at Christmas by a trusty golden Labrador and an adorable golden retriever puppy.
Every Christmas Vicky hides so she doesn’t have to celebrate the date she lost her husband and son. She doesn’t want to see anyone but when she finds a dog’s lost ball she meets Jon, a wounded ex-soldier who’s struggling with his own problems. This brave man touches Vicky’s shattered heart and makes her realize she can’t hide forever. With his support, can she find the strength to love again?

#2 Silver Christmas
A heartwarming story of love rediscovered at Christmas with the help of a sweet silver kitten.

Ten years ago, Owen gave Jennifer an ultimatum, give up her dream of being a veterinarian and marry him, or he'd take custody of their newborn daughter. His plan backfired when she left him to go to college. He's raised their daughter alone but never given up hope that Jennifer will return to them. Now he has a second chance. Can he prove he's changed and win her back?

#3 Snowy Christmas
When wealthy landowner, Marcus Bramwell, stops to help Emily rescue a poor little abandoned Westie, he rescues her as well. Her scheming Spanish boyfriend left her penniless and Marcus offers her the job of housekeeper at Rosemoor Hall, his English manor house. He gives her a home, a job, and hope for the future. But what she really yearns for is his heart. Can a penniless housekeeper persuade Marcus that not all women are like his cheating ex-wife?

  1. What a sweet idea--Paw Prints on Your Heart. My 8-yr-old loves the Kitty Corner and The Puppy Place chapter books...I'll make a note of your stories for her future reading list. And in the meantime, I'll add your cute covers to my ever-growing reading list.
I'm glad you have so much to be thankful for.
