Author Interview- Kayden Claremont

It's Wednesday y'all, to help get you over this hump day I've got author Kayden Claremont with her new release, Hell's Bounty !

Welcome Kayden, tell me three words that describe yourself starting with A, B, and C.

Artistic, book worm and cute. Lol

What are your three favorite things?

Family, friends and chocolate.

Is there a process you stick to, or do you just write as it hits you?

My process is truly confusing for others to follow but it works for me. I write every day, but I don’t always work on the same story. Since I write under two different names and two different genres, today I might be working on a paranormal romance and tomorrow I might be working on a romantic suspense.
I know it sounds strange, but I work with the characters that are talking to me. Sometimes they need time to develop their story so they don’t talk to me, then I switch stories and go with the other characters.

Favorite item of clothing in your closet?

My jeans. I love wearing jeans. I can’t wear them at my day job, so as soon as I get home, I change. There is something about soft denim that just makes y day better.

Will there be more books in your series, or can you tell us about any previous books?

Yes, Hell’s Bounty is the first book of my heaven and hell series.  This series is about people and beings we know about in myth. I like to play with the idea, if they lived in present day society, what would they be doing now. Now would they interact with us and help us.

Blurb

Marcus Dionysius, a Nephilim working for Heaven, has one mission – to prevent Hell’s beauty from stealing souls meant for the higher plane. But he soon realizes he’s met his sexual match in Raven Hart, a succubus bounty hunter on a hunt.

Excerpt

Raven looked over at him. “Marcus, this is the coroner, Doctor Hill. Doc, this is my new partner, Detective Marcus Dionysius.”
Marcus extended his hand to the doctor, but he just paced back and forth, ignoring the proffered handshake. “Oh, my dear, you shouldn’t see this.”
“Doc, I’m a detective. There isn’t much I haven’t seen.” Raven’s no-nonsense tone had no effect on the doctor. “No, dear, not this time.” He took her by the elbow and led her a few feet away from the body. Shaking his head, he continued, “This time it’s too personal. You don’t need to see this.” He pointed at the body on the ground. “It’s Stephen, my dear.”
Marcus watched shock flash across her face for a moment before she got control again. She wasn’t expecting to see her late partner. She hadn’t done this, but that didn’t clear her of the other attacks.
The captain was sleazy. Everyone in heaven and hell knew it. And everyone thought that because Raven worked so closely with him, she was part of his plan. Marcus hoped the sexy succubus wasn’t connected with hell’s mess. He moved closer to the body.
Doctor Hill glanced at him and stopped talking.
Clearing his throat, Marcus said softly to Raven, “I’ll handle this if you’re not up to it. The captain can assign another detective to work the case with me.”
Raven looked up at him, anger flaring in her eyes as she answered, “What do you think I am? Some fragile female who can’t do her job?”

  2. nice interview. i suppose working on more than one story at a time works for you and maybe it would me, but no, i like clearing my mind and letting it go at it on one at a time. don't want any dendrites crossing. but you must do it well.

  3. Hi Kayden and Angela. I don't think your writing system would work for me. I have to finish one story before I begin another, or it nags at me and drives me crazy. But we're all different, so if it works for you, don't mess with it!

Best of luck with Hell's Bounty.

  4. Hello Kayden. Great blog post. Loved the excerpt. I'm blown away by your multi-tasked writing habit. I can only flip flop if one story is a short story and the other is novel length. Even then I get my characters mixed up. Good luck with Hell's Bounty.
