Author Interview Rolynn Anderson

Morning Readers, we're welcoming 2014 with our first guest, author Rolynn Anderson.

Tell us three words that describe yourself starting with A, B, and C:

Active, Bold and Confident

What are your three favorite things?

Loving family, good health, sense of purpose

Was there any particular inspiration for your characters or story?

LIE CATCHERS was inspired by the courageous Norwegians who left the homeland to find fortune and land in Petersburg, Alaska.  The men fished for a living; some married Tlingit women.  The town is charming with a rich history, including a 1932 murder of an important citizen…a crime that was never solved.  This setting and this mystery, got my writing juices flowing!

When not writing, what can you be found doing?

I live on our boat, INTREPID, for the four summer months.  When I’m on dry land, I’ll be golfing, gardening, reading or working on some renovation project for our California home.  I love to travel, a habit instilled in me growing up as an Army brat.

Sounds absolutely delightful! Can you tell us a bit about your writing process?

My writing process is simple.  Get up every morning, review what I wrote the day before and tinker with that, then carry on by writing another new scene.  I rarely plan ahead more than a scene at a time, which keeps the fun in writing for me.

Blurb:

Two unsolved murders will tear apart an Alaska fishing town unless a writer and a government agent reveal their secret obsessions.
Treasury agent Parker Browne is working undercover in Petersburg, Alaska to investigate a money scam and a murder. His prime suspect, Liv Hanson, is a freelance writer struggling to save her family’s business. Free spirited, full of life, and with a talent for catching liars, she fascinates Parker.
Trying to prove she’s a legitimate writer who cares about Petersburg’s issues, Liv pens a series of newspaper articles about an old, unsolved murder. When her cold case ties in with Parker’s investigation, bullets start to fly.
Parker understands money trails, and Liv knows the town residents. But he gave up on love two years ago, and she trusts no one, especially with her carefully guarded secret. If they mesh their skills to find the killers, will they survive the fallout?

Thank you for being with us Rolynn. Lie Catchers will certainly be finding its way to my Kindle, it sounds like  a great read.

  2. Rolynn, your book is waiting patiently on my Kindle. After reading your blurb, I might ditch the lackluster story I've been reading and pop over to yours. I do love your writing. Much success, hon.

    1. Monica, planning = drudgery as it has to to with the building of a story. Afterwards, some of that ding-dang organization is a must...but we try not to think about it :-)

    1. Thanks for the compliments, Calisa. I yearn to write the story and pick the setting /plot that people say: "I wish I'd thought of that." I read books and say that to myself all the time!

  8. Your story sounds interesting. Years ago, I did lots of research on Alaska for my first manuscript that will probably not see the light of day. Really want to visit someday.

  11. Liz, Linda, Sandra and Angela...thanks for you upbeat comments about my setting. Alaska is a gobsmacking place...wild, remote places along with modern cities. Oh, the views...and the eclectic population! Amazing place!
