Each year, I reflect on
the lessons I’ve learned during the past twelve months. I’m grateful for
everything—from the extreme joys to the struggles and sorrows. It’s all a part
of my journey in life. This year, I’m thankful for the friendships with my
siblings. I never have to pretend everything is perfect in my world with them.
They’ve known me since they took their first steps. They can sense when
something is off in my world from the silence, or words used in a simple text. Even
though I am the oldest, it does not mean that I have all the wisdom either. The
bond between my sisters and brother is powerful, even during our bleak times of
despair. Each has reached out, reminding us how important we are in their
lives. During this time of year, I often return to the humble beginnings of our
childhood, recalling joyful times of bonding and remembering that these were my
first friendships. No matter the time and distance, my siblings are an
important foundation in my life.

created in her mind are coming to life within her stories.
If you enjoy history, tortured heroes, and a wee bit of

ReplyDeleteTrust me, Charlotte, it hasn't been easy over the many years. :) We're all far from perfect and I can recall many arguments, some even over the holidays. Yet, recently this year, I was reminded of how precious our bond actually is.
