Author Interview- Anna Durand- Tempted by a Kiss

Happy Monday readers.
Please welcome fellow TWRP rose, Anna Durand, to the blog as she shares a few tidbits about herself and her new book, Tempted by a Kiss.

Welcome Anna, tell us three words that describe yourself starting with A, B, and C.
Avid, businesslike, creative.

What are your three favorite things?
Writing, reading, and chocolate.

Are you self- published or with a publishing company (if so, which one?)?
I've done a little of both. I'm a hybrid, which kind of makes me sound like I just broke out of a scientific laboratory!

What for you is the best part of writing? What is the worst?
The best part is that moment when the story coalesces in my mind. I don't write outlines; instead, I let an idea percolate through my brain until a coherent story emerges. Then, in that moment, I feel like there must be a light bulb flashing above my head, because everything makes sense now. The worst part is writing the ending. By the close of a book, I've begun to think of my characters as good friends, and I always develop a crush on my hero, so typing out that last sentence is bittersweet. I'm glad they found their happy ending, but I hate saying goodbye.

How much is your character like you?
My heroines tend to have a bit of me in them, though they're more like the best versions of me. Of course, they have far worse problems than I do, so I've got one up on them in that respect! Even my heroes inherit a bit my personality. It's natural to gift your characters, even the villains, with a touch of yourself. So yes, my heroines are sarcastic. Oh right, that's nothing like me…

What’s the one thing you would do if you could be your character for a day?
If I could be Mel from Tempted by a Kiss, I'd definitely make out with Adam! J Hey, I am a single girl, after all. Besides, I wrote him as an amazing kisser, so how could I resist?

Will there be more books in your series, or can you tell us about any previous books?
Tempted by a Kiss is a short story. I've since expanded it into a novel, which will become the first book in a series about hot firefighters and the women they set on fire. I also write the Psychic Crossroads series of paranormal romances and I just finished the first book in the Hot Scots series, about the culture clash between sexy Scotsmen and feisty American lasses.

Favorite item of clothing in your closet?
Jeans. They're versatile, comfortable, and perfect for any occasion. Forget the little black dress, every women needs a good pair of jeans!

Blurb:

Mel Thompson just dumped her cheating ex after two years together. Now she's determined to understand the allure of casual sex by having a steamy fling of her own at a notoriously raunchy underground club. When her best friend, Adam Caras, catches on to her plan, he makes a surprising offer to derail her. If she wants a hot fling, he'll give it to her.
Who better than Adam, renowned lady-killer, to demonstrate the erotic pleasures of a one night stand? Sex could ruin their friendship, but after a soul-searing kiss, Mel fears one night may never be enough.

Excerpt:

This time, he offered me his hand, palm up. I stared at it. My stomach fluttered, though I had no clue why. I'd danced with Adam a number of times, at weddings and parties.
A strange warmth rushed through me, but evaporated in an instant. The hand, the one attached to the arm of my best friend, waited patiently. I settled my palm in his. He curled his fingers around my hand. I hopped off the stool and let him guide me toward the dance floor. The music had segued from an up-tempo number to a slow, seductive beat with an enticing melody, played on exotic instruments. The song conjured visions of a Middle Eastern palace, belly dancers, and hot, dark men with lascivious intentions.
We sidled between the other dancers, wending our way across the dance floor on the hunt for a vacant slot. At last, we broke out of the masses into a cramped space just wide enough for the two of us, forcing me to move closer to Adam. He pivoted on his heels to face me and, keeping my hand in his, lifted it in a ballroom dancing position. His other hand lightly rested on my hip. This was what I expected from a dance with Adam. Then he dragged me into him, my body suddenly crushed against his heat. My heart skipped. The strobes had given way to soft, pulsing, golden lights. In the twilight of the floor, I couldn't make out his expression. Entwined with Adam, aware of every hard line of his muscles, I was paralyzed.
