This last year has been one
heck of a roller coaster ride for me. It all started when I signed my first
contract and began working with a fantastic editor on my debut novel GHOSTDRUMS.
On November 30th, my novel will go on sale at both Amazon.com and
Thewildrosepress.com. It’s already up for pre-order, which I am tickled about.
It is a book from my heart and one step closer in my effort of trying to get
readers to see ghosts differently.
While working on GHOSTDRUMS,
I was invited to join a terrific set of authors to submit a novella for a boxed
set titled A WICKED HALLOWEEN. The set has 13 great authors writing stories set
in Salem during Halloween. This opportunity allowed me to dip my toes into the
world of self-publishing and greatly increasing my knowledge on social media
marketing.
Because of the boxed set
opportunity, I braved the world of self-publishing solo. I wrote A TIMED WAGER.
Book One of my Lost Trinket Series. I have learned so much about
self-publishing by doing this on my own. There is a LOT to learn! Let me tell
you…I still think there is much more out there I need to know. But, one step at
a time.
During all of this, I left my
job of 22+ years. Courage I didn’t know I possessed, came out in full force,
when I imagined living my dream of being a full-time author. For that, I am so
very thankful I have had these opportunities and move forward much braver than
I have been in my writing life.
One step at a time. That’s my
motto. Be brave and go forward. If you have done anything like this, let me
know. I’d love to hear about any brave step you’ve taken, no matter if it was a
small step or large one. Every step matters!
Can a contingent of ghosts, a Marine Veteran, and a beautiful landlord
overcome a murderer before it’s too late?
BLURB:
Marine Veteran,
Marcus Lincoln, returns home after almost being blown to bits. His physical
injuries are nothing compared to his mental state. He now sees the ghost of his
best friend. In need of R & R he rents rooms from a landowner in small town
Georgia. However, the landlord looks nothing like he imagined. Victoria
Silvershade is a spirit seeker. She wants to start a foundation that will allow
her to help spirits who have not crossed over. And it just so happens, she has
her own troupe of ghosts residing in her home. To bring in money, she rents out
part of her house to Marcus, but fails to tell him his new landlord is a woman.
When her foundation sponsors begin to turn up dead, Victoria, Marcus, and their
combined ghost family try to find the killer. But will they succeed before they
become deceased themselves?

Congrats on your debut novel! You are in good hands at TWRP!
ReplyDeleteFor an introvert like me, it was a brave step making an appearance at our local Steampunk Festival to promote my Buffalo Steampunk series. Couldn't have done it without the support of my daughter and husband! But oh, the fascinating and wonderful people I met!
ReplyDeleteI've taken many brave steps in my lifetime, Sherrie. I call them "leaps of faith," and grateful for them all. Each has taught me a lesson about my own strength. Loved hearing about yours...Wishing you all the best! :)
