Thankful Author- Kathryn Knight

THANKFUL AUTHOR BLOG ROUNDUP
Featuring Kathryn Knight

What I'm Thankful For

I have many things for which I’m thankful, my family being first and foremost.  I’ll talk a little bit more about that after I mention a few other things I’m thankful for as well, because I’m a firm believer in appreciating the smaller stuff as well: curling up in a warm bed with a book, sipping hot coffee first thing in the morning, teaching my fitness classes, snuggling with my pets.  Life is full of things we don’t want to do, so I really try to enjoy the moments spent indulging in each day’s little pleasures.
Writing gives me pleasure, too—although sometimes, it also makes me crazy.  When I began writing my first novel six years ago, I really didn’t know what I was getting into.  But I was blessed with a supportive family who not only cheered me on, but understood when I forgot to make dinner.
The day I received my first publishing contract—three years after I wrote that first sentence—ranks up there with my wedding day and the births of my two children.  Only my younger son, who was ten at the time, was home when I got the news.  He and I danced around the kitchen together as the December snow fell outside.  It’s a memory I’ll never forget, and one that brings tears to my eyes even as I type this.  I hope, if nothing else, I’ve shown my boys that hard work and determination pay off.
It was my husband’s encouragement that convinced me to begin this journey in the first place.  He has been there for me every step of the way, not just in writing, but throughout our life together.  Because of him, I was able to achieve my dream.  Without his steadfast faith and support, I’d still be saying, “Maybe someday.”
So I’d like to highlight that first novel, SILVER LAKE, which I dedicated to him.  Thank you, Angela, for hosting me today for the November Thankful Author Roundup!

As a child, Kathryn Knight kept her parents on a constant quest to find enough reading material to last her through each week.  An early fondness for books about horses later gave way to a lasting preference for both love stories and ghost stories; as a writer, the paranormal romance genre is a perfect fit.  SILVER LAKE, a RomCon Reader’s Crown Award Finalist, was Kathryn’s first published novel, followed six months later by Amazon bestseller and RomCon Finalist GULL HARBOR.  Her latest release, DIVINE FALL, is a Young Adult paranormal romance.  She lives in New England with her husband, her sons, and a number of rescued animals.  Please visit her at http://kathrynknightbooks.blogspot.com or on Facebook at Kathryn Knight books.

Rain Anderson can’t decide which is more unsettling—encountering the ghost of her missing friend, or reuniting with the man whose love she foolishly rejected. But one thing is certain: the past has come back to haunt her, quite literally.
Five years ago, Rain’s tight-knit group of high school friends unraveled when one vanished during their senior year. Now, a parent’s deathbed request has reunited the friends at Silver Lake, including Jason Lansing, the man Rain discarded.
Rain and Jason discover the powerful attraction between them has survived, but though Jason is willing to forgive, he can’t let himself forget. The possibility of falling for Rain again is too risky.
Slamming doors, crashing objects, flaring fires—clearly the ghost has a message to share. As Rain and Jason struggle to unravel the truth, they must face a desperate spirit in need of help…and a burning passion that refuses to die.
